On this call, it was suggested that there be an open sharing of Safety Performance Targets (SPIs) / Safety Performance Targets (SPTs) between departments since it is proving a challenge for many to create relevant and measurable safety goals. Thanks to Walter for creating this forum and thank you all for sharing. We use some similar SPIs and SPTs listed above. A couple additional ones we find helpful are:
1) # of reports per year
2) % of reports submitted that are proactive. i.e. report sent in b/c someone thought something could happen vs report sent in because an event did occur.
3) Repeat reports about same of very similar hazard (monitoring to see if our mitigations are working even after assurance check).
4) Moderate to high risk FRAT / GRAT scores (we have customized scoring and if the risk becomes moderate or greater management is brought into the decision making process. We track these to aid us in determining what level of risk we are actively accepting).
